Having worked in the region for 23 years, Indu Varanasi has been at the head of her design firm, IR Design, for 12 years. IR Design originally specialised in the retail industry, and Varanasi also provides company branding for her clients. Implementing “design consciousness” in all of her projects, Varanasi has worked on numerous outlets, mid-size shopping malls, corporate offices, food and beverage outlets, and hotels. Varanasi and her team of 10 – which recently relocated to Dubai Design District – last year completed the design of Academic City’s Amity University, and Novo Cinemas in Dubai. As a next step in progressive growth and expansion, IR Design created a partnership with Senselab, an Italian design studio based in Milan, and is currently working on projects in Oman and India.
